Apple introduces M2, extending the revolutionary capability and performance  of M1 more

Apple has announced M2 yesterday, the next Generation of Apple silicon specifically designed to work with the Mac.

M2 offers the latest levels of energy-efficient performance and capabilities for the redesign of the MacBook Air and updated 13-inch  MacBook Pro

Based on the latest 5-nanometer technology of the second generation M2 improves the industry-leading efficiency per Watt of the M1 and goes further.

with an 18 percent speedier CPU as well as with a 35 percent faster GPU and a 40 percent more efficient Neural Engine.

It also offers 50 % more bandwidth for memory as compared M1, as well as up to 24GB of speedy unification memory.

M2 adds all this, plus brand new technology and higher efficiency -- to the totally revamped MacBook Air and updated 13-inch MacBook Pro.

"M2 starts the second generation of M-series chips and goes beyond the remarkable features of M1," said Johny Srouji Apple's senior vice-president for Hardware Technologies.

"With our constant pursuit of power-efficient performance M2 offers a speedier CPU as well as GPU as well as Neural Engine.

In addition to a higher memory bandwidth and new features such as ProRes Acceleration, M2 keeps up the rapid pace of development within Apple semiconductors for Mac."

Chip  design M2 is built with the latest, second-generation, 5-nanometer technology. It is comprised of 20 billion transistors, which is 25 % more than the M1.
