Sheryl Sandberg to leave Facebook parent Meta after 14 years

Sheryl Sandberg is the chief operating officer of Facebook parent company Meta and she plans to step down after 14 years.

In a statement of Facebook on Wednesday,Sheryl said she want to continue to serve on Meta's board of directors and focus on her foundation and philanthropic work.

Sheryl Sandberg said that she will officially leave the company this fall.

Sandberg said "I am so proud of everything this team has achieved,". "The business we have built, The businesses we have helped and The culture we have nurtured together."

When Sandberg departs after that Javier Olivan who Meta's chief growth officer, will become chief operating officer.

Mark Zuckerberg said "She created opportunities for millions of people around the world so, she deserves the credit for what  Meta is today.

As COO, Sheryl Sandberg served as one of Meta's top executives during historic growth.

She also faced several public challenges including scrutiny over the spread of misinformation and  user privacy.
