Factories have been temporarily shut down as Tesla works to improve their production output.

Production of the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y has been temporarily paused for upgrade its manufacturing capacity.

Tesla’s HR department says its Shanghai factory was shut earlier this month to complete upgrades to its production lines.

According to Demand for Tesla’s electric vehicles has been growing at a rapid rate with this upgrade expected to improve manufacturing times.

The Tesla company received approx 25,000 orders for the Tesal Model Y on the last Friday it went on sale across Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.

CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk tweet that Tesla didn't expect demand to be so high.

The company’s Shanghai plant has been working at half capacity.
